Elderberry

Sambucus nigra canadensis

Elderberry has been used as plant medicine for centuries by native peoples. It is also a favorite of many modern herbalists. Extracts from the flowers and fruits help to reduce the incidence of cold, as well as shorten the duration of cold and flu symptoms. The first book about the medicinal properties of Elderberry was written by German physician Martin Blochwich in the 1620s.

It was a great class. Straight to the point and with information on how to identify it if you’re interested in foraging.

Great course. The instructor may this seem easy. After the plant identification I am sure I won't poison myself.
